Model Answer for Exercise 3
Model Paragraph Many conservationists today are asking the question of whether there is a role for controlled hunting of big game. They have seen that controlled big game hunting can reduce the extent of poaching in game parks. Wildlife poachers often prefer to switch to regular paid employment with the companies involved. Also, hunting safaris raise a lot of money that is a major source of funds for many conservation projects. The big game hunters are willing to pay considerable money for their kills. Finally, governmental oversight of the practise has been relatively problem-free. With so many positive outcomes to recommend it, a consensus is emerging that controlled big game hunting can be part of an effective conservation strategy.
